This antique suzani is a true collectible and conversation piece for your walls. It was made in Uzbekistan in the late 19th or early 20th century and features the most glorious mix of colours: teal, pink, light blue, tan, and camel.
It was hand-stitched by Uzbek women in a unique couching stitch method. It's been finished with a lovely selvedge in complementary colours.
Given its size, this antique suzani would work well as a wallhanging on a curtain rod, draped over a chair or couch, or as a tablecloth for a small coffee or side table.
Details:
- Silk embroidery thread on cotton fabric
- Approximately 112m (width) x 168cm (length)
- Excellent antique condition, though please note there are a few small stains, frayed edges, and areas of dye bleeding (not very noticeable on the front, more so on the back of the textile, but still quite light)
