Framed antique suzani, pink & tan
Framed antique suzani, pink & tan
Out of stock
This large, framed antique suzani was made from a fabulous central fragment of a 19th-century suzani textile. from the Silk Road city of Bukhara, Uzbekistan.
The design features rare and beautifully rich pinks, purples, and blues against a tan background. I love the plentiful florals in this fragment, complemented by the serrated vines.
I also think this piece works well both vertically and horizontally oriented. It currently has vertical hangings, but if you let me know in the order notes, I can change this before shipping (can also be changed easily with a few hand tools).
The suzani fabric is first carefully mounted onto ivory linen for structural integrity and contrast, then set within a bespoke oak tray frame handcrafted by our framers in Bristol, UK. Ready to hang and designed to endure.
Details:
- Silk embroidery thread on linen fabric, mounted on 100% heavyweight linen
- Oak frame approximately 62 cm (width) x 104 cm (height) x 4.5 cm (depth)
- Corded and ready for wall hanging (orientation can easily be changed with basic hand tools)
- Excellent antique condition; however, please note there are some very minor stains and thread loss/thinning as shown in the photos
Delivery & Care:
